In the last few weeks details about Mario’s next racing title have been trickling out of Nintendo. The latest of these details include information on several new power-ups, brand new to the Mario Kart franchise. Not wishing to spoil those who do not want to know, the information on these newest power-ups are after the jump.
The first of the power-ups revealed was the fire flower. Not many details were revealed about how it will be used, but it can be assumed that you shoot fire. Whether it will track opponents in a similar fashion to shells or fly freely on its own is anyone’s guess.
The second power-up revealed more recently is the Tanooki tail. As with the fire flower, no official information was revealed about the tail. From screenshots it appears that you do hit other with it to slow them down.
Mario Kart 7 and its power-ups new and old hits the track on November 2nd, 2011 in Europe and November 4th, 2011 in North America.
